Privacy Policy

Donkey Card Game ("the game", "we") is a card game for iPhone. This policy explains what information the game and its partners use, why, and the choices you have. In short: you can play without an account, the game shows ads from Google that you can remove with a subscription, and if you sign in we keep only what's needed to save your progress.

On your phone

Your donkey name, avatar, coins, unlocked tables, settings and a count of games you've finished (used to space out ads) are stored on your device. If you play as a guest, none of this leaves your phone, and deleting the app deletes it.

Ads

The game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, run by Google LLC. An ad plays between games after your first two, and you can choose to watch an ad for extra coins whenever you like.

To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's software in the game collects information such as:

  • Device and app details: device model, iOS version, language, the app's version, and an identifier for the app on your device.
  • Your IP address, which can suggest your approximate location (city or region, not your exact location).
  • Ad activity: which ads were shown, whether you tapped them, and whether a rewarded ad was watched to the end.
  • The advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking (see below).

Google handles this under its own privacy policy. We don't receive this information ourselves and we don't combine it with your account.

Tracking and your choices

  • Apple's "Allow tracking?" prompt. The first time you reach the tables, iOS asks whether the game may track you. If you allow it, Google may use the advertising identifier to show ads more relevant to you. If you don't, you still see ads, just not personalised ones. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Europe, the UK and Switzerland. Before any ad is requested, Google's consent form asks whether your data may be used for personalised ads. You can decline, and change your answer at any time in the game under Settings → Ads → Privacy choices.
  • Ads are limited to content suitable for teens (Google's "T" rating).

Go ad-free subscription

The optional Go ad-free subscription removes the ads between games; ads for extra coins stay optional. Purchases are made and processed by Apple through your Apple ID: we never see your payment details. The game asks Apple on your phone whether a subscription is active; we don't store purchase records on our servers. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings → Subscriptions.

Signing in (optional)

You can sign in with Apple or Google to save your progress and restore it on another phone. When you do, we receive and store:

  • An account identifier from Apple or Google, so we know it's you next time.
  • Your email address, as shared by Apple or Google. With Sign in with Apple you can choose Hide My Email, and we then receive only a private relay address.
  • Your name, as shared by Google (and, with Google, a link to your Google profile picture). Our sign-in service keeps these with your account; the game uses only your first name, to suggest a donkey name the first time. With Sign in with Apple, your name stays on your phone for that suggestion and is never stored.
  • Your game progress: your donkey name and avatar, coins, unlocked tables and which table intros you've seen.

We use this only to save and restore your progress. We don't use it for advertising, we don't share it with Google's ad services, and we never sell it.

Where your data is stored

Signed-in accounts and saved progress are stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the United States. Each player's progress can be read and changed only by that player's own signed-in account. Sign-in itself is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.

What we don't collect

  • No analytics of our own.
  • No precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
  • No payment information: Apple handles all payments.
  • Coins in the game are for play only: they can't be bought, sold or exchanged for money or anything of value.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time inside the game: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and the progress saved with it from our servers, and, if you signed in with Apple, tells Apple to remove the game's access to your Apple ID. Your phone keeps its own copy as a guest until you delete the app. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Go ad-free subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID settings.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we'll delete the account.

Changes to this policy

If the game starts doing something new with your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that change goes live.
